Building an everyday wardrobe in Indore

By Highness · Indore, Madhya Pradesh

A useful wardrobe starts with an ordinary week. Think about the clothes you reach for on a college morning, during a commute or before meeting friends. Those repeated choices tell you more than a list of trends. Build around the life you actually lead in Indore.

Start with the week you already have

Write down your main settings: classes, an office, errands, evenings out and days at home. Beside each one, note what feels comfortable and appropriate. If most of your week is casual, a wardrobe full of occasion pieces will keep leaving you with nothing to wear. Begin with the setting you dress for most often.

Choose a small colour family

Pick two or three colours you already enjoy wearing. Black, white, blue or grey can be a starting point, but they are not a rule. Lay your tops next to your bottoms and look for combinations you would genuinely wear. A new colour earns its place when it works with at least two existing pieces.

Give fit more attention than the label

Try sitting, reaching and walking in a garment. Look at the shoulder, waist and hem rather than relying only on a size letter. Keep the measurements of a favourite T-shirt or pair of trousers on your phone. They make future comparisons easier, especially when brands use different size charts.

Fill one gap at a time

Before buying, name the gap: a plain top that works under a shirt, a better-fitting everyday trouser, or a light layer for an air-conditioned room. A specific need is easier to judge than a vague wish for a new look. Wear the addition with what you own before planning the next purchase.
